HC Deb 03 February 1969 vol 777 c30W
Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many working days were lost in 1968 because of bronchitis and similar chest complaints.

Mr. Swingler

My information relates only to days of sickness notified for National Insurance purposes. From June, 1966, to June, 1967, the latest period for which figures are available, 35 million days of sickness were attributed to bronchitis, and 30 million days to all other diseases of the respiratory system.
