HC Deb 18 December 1969 vol 793 c380W
44. Sir C. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how productivity is calculated for policemen, nurses, teachers and dustmen in relation to salaries paid.

Mr. Harold Walker

It is not practicable to relate the pay of policemen, nurses and teachers to productivity.

The productivity of dustmen can be measured by normal work study methods, and many local authorities are using incentive schemes to good effect.
