§ Mr. John Pageasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement about the picketing of the entrance to the Enfield Technical College on 26th November by members of the National Union of Students who were on strike; what injuries and damage to property were reported to the police; and what instructions members of the Metropolitan Police have in supervising the methods of picketing used by students on strike.
§ Mr. Elystan MorganMetropolitan police officers went to the college at midday on 26th November in response to a call by a member of the public. No police action was called for and the police received no complaints of injury or of damage to property. The police do not intervene in picketing unless something unlawful is done.
