§ Sir. H. Legge-Bourkeasked the Minister of Technology whether he will make a statement on the grant-in-aid to the Institute of Patentees and Inventors and the outcome of discussions between his Department and the Institute on the purposes to which this grant will be put.
§ Mr. BennYes. A grant-in-aid of £2,000 is to be made by my Department in the present financial year and also, subject to Parliamentary approval, in 1970–71 and 1971–72 for the purpose of assisting the Institute in continuing its work of helping and advising private inventors. Arrangements have been agreed with the Institute for closer integration of its work, in areas of common 349W interest, with that of the Inventions Unit of my Department and that of the National Research Development Corporation.
