§ Mr. FreesonMy right hon. Friend has received a number of representations, mainly about the difficulties of obtaining credit. He has replied that his right hon. Friend the Chancellor maintains credit restrictions to strengthen the economy, but will ease them as soon as it is prudent to do so. Meanwhile, the Government's recent decisions to increase local authority mortgage lending this year and next and to improve the option mortgage scheme will help housebuilders.
