Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will seek to raise at the Human Rights Commission of the United Nations the dangers to peace in part of the Middle East arising from the bombing of and atrocities against Kurds carried out by the Iraqi Government.
§ Mr. FoleyNo. I do not consider that it would be appropriate for Her Majesty's Government to take the initiative in raising this matter at the United Nations. Our attitude towards action at the United Nations, were this subject to be raised in the Human Rights Commission, would depend on the case that is presented.
