asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his estimate of the proportion of the Government's total expenditure on goods and services which is spent in Scotland.

On the basis of provisional outturn figures, identifiable expenditure by the central Government on goods and services in Scotland in 1968–69 amounted to 10.2 per cent. of the corresponding expenditure in the United Kingdom.
