HC Deb 11 December 1969 vol 793 cc151-2W
43. Mr. Scott-Hopkins

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the average number of children per class in primary schools in Derbyshire; and what is his policy regarding the provision of school dining halls for primary schoolchildren.

Miss Bacon

Thirty-one. The Department's Regulations require accommodation to be designed for dining and made available for long enough to allow for meals to be prepared and served and for clearing up afterwards. The minimum area prescribed is based on the amount of room needed for serving and eating.
