HC Deb 10 December 1969 vol 793 cc131-2W
65. Mr. Gordon Campbell

asked the Minister for the Civil Service what arrangements are made by Her Majesty's Government to extend the National Health Service to United Kingdom officials serving in posts in the United States of America through United States private health insurance schemes; and for how long the system has been in operation.

Mr. Shore

No such arrangements exist.

Benefits equivalent to those of the National Health Service are instead extended to the United Kingdom officials in the United States of America through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Medical Scheme which provides for approprate reimbursement of the costs of medical and dental treatment.
