Mr. Wingfield Digbyasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to promote the establishment of a sugar beet factory in the South-West, in view of the increased need for a break crop in Dorset and neighbouring counties and the fact that Kidderminster is a long distance away.
§ Mr. HoyNo. It is the responsibility of the British Sugar Corporation to determine the location of beet sugar factories, in the light of the relevant economic considerations.
