§ Mr. Gregor Mackenzieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will issue a circular advising local authorities to set up registers of older people living in their areas.
§ Mr. RossLocal authorities already receive information about elderly people in need of help from a variety of sources and I am not convinced that the compilation of a register would repay the great amount of work involved. Many elderly people do not need help and I would expect some to resent registration.
