Section 19 of the Civil Aviation Act, 1968, conveys power to restrict or prohibit supersonic flights over the United Kingdom. No decision has yet been taken on the extent of the restrictions to be imposed but a decision will be taken well before any supersonic aircraft enter commercial service.
