HC Deb 09 December 1969 vol 793 c61W
81 and 82. Mr. Wall

asked the Minister of Transport (1) when he expects work on the South-West Beverley bypass, which includes the new Hull-Beverley main road, to be started;

(2) whether he is aware of the growing through-traffic passing through Beverley, which is endangering the historic Minster and the Church of St. Mary's, and that this traffic will grow with the construction of the Humber Bridge; and what action he proposes to take to remedy the situation.

Mr. Bob Brown

Traffic congestion in Beverley will be relieved by the building of the Beverley bypass and Hull Road diversion scheme at present in preparation. Examination of the preliminary report on the scheme has indicated that additional information is needed before we can forecast when work will start.
