§ 53. Mr. Michael Heseltineasked the Minister of Transport if he will publish the details of the annual costs arising from the administration of road haulage operators licensing in 1969 and the estimated costs for 1970.
§ Mr. Murray£2.2 million in the year ending 31st March, 1970, and £2.4 million in the year ending 31st March, 1971. Carriers' licensing has been running at a loss for some years and the deficit during the current financial year is expected to reach £1.3 million: but this loss has not been taken into account in settling the level of fees for operators' licensing.
