HC Deb 09 December 1969 vol 793 cc99-100W
Mr. Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity the number of forestry workers, other than those employed by the Forestry Commission, in each county or area of Scotland for each of the last 10 years.

Mr. Dell

My Department compiles industrial analyses of employees in employment only for Minimum List Head- ings of the Standard Industrial Classification.

For Scotland as a whole for the years 1959–68, following are estimates of the numbers of employees in employment in Forestry (Minimum List Heading 002 of the Standard Industrial Classification). It would not be possible to provide a more detailed analysis without undue expenditure of staff time. It should be noted that some employees of the Forestry Commission may be classified to industries other than MLH 002.
