§ 78. Mr. Stodartasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what research has been carried out with a view to eliminating louping-ill in sheep; whether an effective vaccine has been found; and when he expects it to be available to sheep breeders.
§ Mr. John MackieLouping-ill does not lend itself to eradication, and research has, therefore, been directed to developing an effective vaccine. Although the results of recent work have been promising and good progress is being made, it is still too early to judge when a vaccine will be available commercially.
