§ Mrs. HartMy Department attaches considerable importance to the extension of the Low Priced Book Scheme to the Pacific, and a proposal to this effect was put to the publishers concerned earlier this year. Unfortunately the publishers, after consulting their agents in Australia and New Zealand, were unable to give the proposal enough support for an extension at present.
