HC Deb 04 December 1969 vol 792 c365W
Mr. Donald Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now list the improvements which he proposes to make to the regulations governing the provision of invalid cars.

Dr. John Dunwoody

Three-wheeler invalid vehicles with improved suspension are now being issued, with priority for haemophiliacs. Vehicles with a bigger engine and automatic transmission are expected to come into production by the end of 1970. It is expected that some disabled people who cannot at present drive any petrol-propelled vehicle will be able to drive the new ones. No change in the rules of eligibility is necessary to enable disabled persons to benefit from these important improvements.
