HC Deb 04 December 1969 vol 792 c360W
Mr. Edward M. Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the hardship and inconvenience caused to the public and to industry and commerce by the unofficial strike of bus crews employed in Central Scotland by the Scottish Transport Group; what steps he will take to maintain essential public transport services in areas wholly dependent on the Scottish Transport Group; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

I much regret the inconvenience and hardship caused by this unofficial strike. I understand however that the union concerned has advised its members to return to work, and at this stage I do not consider that Government intervention to maintain services would be helpful.
