HC Deb 04 December 1969 vol 792 c329W
58. Mr. Emery

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many times her Department has refused an application for a voucher to Canadian, Australian or New Zealand medical personnel who have wished to come to this country to work or study; and what period of time the processing of these applications normally takes.

Mr. Dell

The information requested in the first part of the question is not available as rejected applications are not analysed either by the country of origin or the occupation of the applicant. The time taken to process individual applications, which varies considerably, is on average between two and three weeks; but waiting lists may delay for much longer the issue of a voucher.
