HC Deb 04 December 1969 vol 792 c354W
Sir J. Eden

asked the Minister of Technology whether he is aware that the production of anthracite is insufficient both to meet the demands in the United Kingdom and to take advantage of opportunities for export; and what steps he is taking to ensure more adequate supplies.

Mr. Harold Lever

I am satisfied that the Board is doing all it can to increase anthracite production. The problem is that reserves which can be economically extracted are limited.
