HC Deb 02 December 1969 vol 792 cc256-7W
Mr. Waddington

asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications whether steps are to be taken to improve very high frequency reception in the Nelson and Colne Parliamentary Division so as to ensure that when the schools radio programmes are broadcast on very high frequency only they will be receivable in the division.

Mr. Pentland

The improvement of reception of their services is primarily the responsibility of the B.B.C. They say that reception of their V.H.F. transmissions of Radio 4, which carries the schools programmes, is satisfactory in Nelson and Colne if efficient sets and aerials are used.
