§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will have consultations with the various regional hospital boards with a view to introducing a long service medal for ambulance personnel similar to the one already awarded to long serving members of the police and fire services.
§ Dr. John DunwoodyThis is not a matter for hospital boards, but consultations with them in 1967 on the general question of long service medals for National Health Service staff revealed little support. It would be invidious to treat one category of Health Service staff differently from the rest.
