§ Mr. Harold LeverOf 784 gaming licences for all games in force on 31st March, 1969, 128 were issued in London and 656 in other areas. In some cases licences were for premises outside the area of issue. Corresponding figures as at 31st March, 1968, are not available but it is estimated that about 1,000 such licences were then current.
