Mr. W. H. K. Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proportion, expressed as a percentage of the total, of the Exchequer support for agriculture will be disbursed in Scotland during the ensuing year; what is the estimated proportion of agricultural production of Scotland as expressed as a percentage of the total agricultural production for the United Kingdom for the same period; and if he will give similar figures for the current year.
§ Mr. RossIt is expected that the proportion of United Kingdom Exchequer support for agriculture disbursed in Scotland in 1969–70 will be much the same as in 1968–69, that is about seventeen per cent. The value of Scottish agricultural output expressed as a percentage of United Kingdom agricultural output is also expected to be little different from that in 1968–69, namely about 11 per cent.
