HC Deb 21 April 1969 vol 782 cc13-4W
Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many post-aural hearing aids have now been issued to children; how many remain in stock; if further orders have yet been made; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Crossman

Post-aural aids were first issued to hearing aid centres in February. At 31st March, 768 aids had been fitted in England and Wales; 1,819 were in stock at local centres and 1,875 in central stores. The initial contract of 11,250 has recently been extended by a further 2,500 aids.
