Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will name the 15 persons whose salaried appointments were made within his patronage, giving in each instance the title of the appointment, the remuneration received and the home address of the recipient.

Details of the seventeen salaried appointments for which I am statutorily responsible, except for home addresses which can be obtained from books of reference, are as follows:—

• The Lord Evans (D.Litt., etc.)—Chairman, National Insurance Advisory Committee—£1,500 per annum.
• Sir Harry Crane, O.B.E., J.P.—Chairman, Industrial Injuries Advisory Council—£1,100 per annum.
• Mr. Richard Hayward, C.B.E.—Chairman, Supplementary Benefits Commission—£5,000 per annum.
• Professor R. M. Titmuss, C.B.E.—Deputy Chairman, Supplementary Benefits Commission—£1,250 per annum.
• Mrs. C. M. Carmichael; Mr. K. J. Griffin; Alderman S. C. Hamburger, C.B.E., J.P.; Professor D. C. Marsh, M.Comm.; Mrs. B. N. Rogers, M.A. and Mr. M. R. F. Simson, O.B.E.—Members, Supplementary Benefits Commission—£750 per annum.
• Lord Platt, Bt., M.D., F.R.C.P.—Chairman, Advisory Committee on Distinction Awards —3,500 guineas per annum.
• Sir John MacPherson, G.C.M.G.—Vice-Chairman, Advisory Committee on Distinction Awards—£600 per annum.
• Mr. R. L. Proudler, L.D.S.—Chairman, Dental Estimates Board—£4,920 per annum.
• Mr. L. Everest, L.D.S., R.C.S.—Vice-Chairman, Dental Estimates Board—£4,639 per annum.
• A. M. Maiden, M.B., Ch.B.—Chairman, Medical Practices Committee—£3,800 per annum.
• Mr. K. F. G. Day, O.B.E.—Member, Medical Practices Committee—£500 per annum.
• D. Dooley, B.A., M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P.—H.M. Inspector of Anatomy—£4,405 per annum.
