asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will arrange for more prizes to be available to premium bond holders by reducing the size of the large dividends and spreading out the amount saved among the others.

I do not believe that this would be conducive to larger volume of savings in this medium. The spurt in Premium Savings Bond sales since the weekly £25,000 prize was introduced last October is convincing evidence of the attraction of large prizes.
