§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Transport if he will give details of his land transportation studies and the conclusions he has reached as to areas, plans, costs, and implementation and timing.
§ Mr. MarshLand use transportation studies have been, or are being, undertaken in the major conurbations and in over 40 other towns and sub-regional areas in England. They are commissioned by the local authorities concerned, with contributions towards the cost by my Department, and it is the local authorities who are primarily responsible for their conduct and for the implementation of plans emerging from them.
