HC Deb 15 April 1969 vol 781 cc242-3W
Mr. Ashton

asked the Minister of Power if he will give his latest estimate of the delay in completing the Dungeness nuclear power station and his estimate of the annual cost to the Central Electricity Generating Board arising from the delay.

Mr. Freeson

As I told my hon. Friend the Member for Bristol, Central (Mr. Palmer) on 11th February—[Vol. 777, c. 1102.]—the first reactor may be delayed by at least 18 months and the second by a year. The Central Electricity Generating Board informs me that estimates of the cost of delay cannot be readily broken down to individual stations or types of stations.
