HC Deb 14 April 1969 vol 781 c218W
68. Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what he is doing to implement Recommendation 8 of the Hunter Report that the commercial catch of salmon be regulated to allow attractive angling.

Mr. Ross

I should prefer not to comment on individual recommendations, including those which, like this one, would require legislation, until I have completed my consideration of the Report as a whole.

Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will take steps to develop sea-trout angling for those with average incomes.

Mr. Ross

There are already considerable opportunities in Scotland to engage in this sport at moderate cost; in the course of my study of the Hunter Committee I am considering what can be done to increase them.
