§ Mr. Barnesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he made of the experiment carried out at London Airport during 1966 whereby holders of British and non-British passports were grouped together for immigration purposes; and what plans he has for doing away with segregation on a permanent basis.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesAs the experiment showed that to group all passengers together would cause unnecessary delay to the great majority who are not subject to immigration control, without benefit to those who are, my right hon. Friend does not propose to alter present arrangements.
