HC Deb 02 April 1969 vol 781 cc120-1W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what progress is being made in the reclamation of derelict land in England.

Mr. K. Robinson

During the financial year 1968–69 some 87 schemes for 1,350 acres at a gross cost of £1,800,000 were given final approval, allowing work to start. About £436,000 was paid in grant, compared with about £245,000 during 1967–68. Local authorities have many more schemes in preparation and know that loan sanction and grant are rowdily available for this purpose.
