asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that members of the entertainment profession are entitled to tax allowances for the maintenance of their off-stage wardrobe and employees in heavy industry receive protective closing, if he will seek to allow similar allowances for people employed in other walks of life who always have to be presentably dressed, such as employees in banks, the hotel and catering industry, secretaries, etc.
