§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the new Regional Crime Squad for Scotland will become operational; who has been appointed to command the squad; where its headquarters will be established; and where the forensic laboratory will be located.
§ Mr. RossThe Police Authority Committee with responsibility for the Scottish Crime Squad will hold its first meeting at an early date and will no doubt consider arrangements for bringing the squad into operation and the location of its headquarters. The chief constables committee of the squad is about to publish an advertisement inviting applications for the post of commander. On the location of a national forensic laboratory no decision has been taken.
