§ Mr. Roebuckasked the Minister of Housing; and Local Government whether he will take steps, by legislation or otherwise, to prohibit estate agents or their employees from serving on the planning committees of local authorities in areas in which they ply their trade.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonI do not think it would be right to require elected councils to discriminate against particular professions. Certain statutory safeguards are already provided, though in general reliance must be placed in matters of this kind on the good sense and honour of all concerned.
