§ Mr. Hordernasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the extent of the Government's borrowing requirement so far this year; and how much of this debt has been sold to the non-bank public.
§ Mr. Harold LeverThe Central Government borrowing requirement (net balance) in the June quarter was £394 million. In that quarter, the non-bank public drew down their net holdings of Government debt by £78 million. These figures are published in Financial Statistics.
