§ Mr. Youngerasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, what estimate he has made of the number of fully-qualified teachers in Scotland who have not yet registered with the General Teaching Council; and what proportion of these are teaching in primary and secondary schools, respectively.
§ Mr. RossAs well as new entrants to the profession registration is open to all certificated teachers. As the exact number of such persons is not known, I cannot say precisely how many of them have not registered with the Council but it 217W seems clears that only a small minority of those in service have not done so.
§ Mr. Youngerasked the Secretary of State for Scotland, how many teachers, at the latest convenient date, have registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland; and how many have paid their registration fees.
