Friend has advised police authorities and chief constables that divisional boundaries should be reviewed with the object, where appropriate, of enlarging the size of divisions. In pursuance of this policy, the former Corby and Kettering divisions have been combined to form one large division. Kettering was chosen as the headquarters of the new division.
