§ Mr. Harold LeverAs on earlier occasions, the Northern Ireland banks are not expected to regard themselves as bound by a ceiling on their lending; but they have been asked to observe closely the Bank of England's latest guidance on the direction of lending, in particular as it relates to the financing of import deposits and the curtailment of lending for personal consumption.
