§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the Inland Revenue's actions in the cases of persons who have evaded tax on large incomes, to get tax assessments settled and paid as soon as possible, he will give detailed figures to show to what extent these efforts have been successful.
§ Mr. Harold Leverif my hon. Friend has in mind evasion as usually understood—that is by the rendering of incorrect returns or accounts—I would refer him to paragraphs 114 and 115 of the 110th Report of the Commissioners of Inland Revenue.
