HC Deb 26 November 1968 vol 774 c72W
75. Mr. Molloy

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what are the anticipated effects on production of the recent restrictions on purchasing power.

Mr. Diamond

I expect the effect of the hire-purchase restrictions on production to be slight because increased export deliveries should partly compensate for the reduction in home demand.

As to the more recent measures, I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement that my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer made on Friday.
