HC Deb 26 November 1968 vol 774 c87W
Mr. Cronin

asked the President of the Board of Trade what is the total cost of investment grants per annum; and if he will give an estimate of how much of this is allowed by the Government for purchase of plant and machinery from abroad.

Mr. Dell

As my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary to the Treasury said today in reply to the hon. Member for Nelson and Colne (Mr. Waddington), some£315 million was paid on investment grants in the financial year 1967–68. The current estimate for 1968–69 is£380 million (H.C. 126 of 21/2/68).

The information asked for in the second part of the Question is not available.
