§ 38. Mr. Hefferasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity, whether she will now make a further statement regarding the building workers' interim settlement, following upon her recent discussions with both sides of the industry.
§ Mrs. CastleI made a statement in the House on Friday, 15th November, which outlined the position at that time. The executives of the trade unions concerned subsequently accepted the proposal agreed at my meeting with union representatives on 14th November. This was reported to the National Board for Prices and Incomes with a request to deal with the point at issue in their forthcoming reports on the building and civil engineering industries.—[Vol. 773, c. 761.]
