§ Mr. Albert Robertsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what recommendations his Department has made on the types of prosthetic heart valves to be used in hospitals carrying out heart valve operations, with a view to the success of the operation and not the cost of the valve.
§ Mr. EnnalsMy Department has made no recommendations on the choice or design of prosthetic heart valves to be used in National Health Service hospitals. This is a matter of clinical preference in the light of individual patient requirements.
