§ Mr. Martenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in the light of the projected agricultural situation in the Common Market in the years 1968–69 and 1969–70, what he now estimates to be the net cost to Great Britain's balance of payments of the various contributions to the Guidance and Guarantee Fund of the Community on the United Kingdom joining the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. John MackieAny estimate of the balance of payments cost of the contribution we might be expected to make would be highly speculative and I do not consider that any useful purpose would be served by giving such a figure.
