§ Mr. Derek Pageasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) whether he will make a statement on the part to be played in further import savings by the horticultural industry, in view of the Government's policy of extra import savings by the whole agricultural industry;
254W(2) what methods he proposes to adopt to enable the horticultural industry to play its part in the extra import saving programme for the whole of the agricultural industry, in view of the fact that horticulture is not susceptible to influence from the annual price review.
§ Mr. HoyThe modernisation of the horticultural industry is proceeding apace, with the help of grants under the Horticulture Improvement Scheme, extended in 1966, and other measures; and it is on this basis that I expect the industry to make its full contribution to the import saving objectives described in my right hon.
