§ Mr. Michael StewartAs my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary told the hon. Gentleman on 21st October, the Chinese authorities have refused access to Mr. Watt on the grounds that he has been convicted of espionage. A review of the case has not been requested, but we are considering the possibility. We shall continue to press for consular access.—[Vol. 770, c.206–7.]
