§ 84. Sir J. Vaughan-Morganasked the Secretary of State for Social Services why the Salter Unit, Cane Hill Hospital, which is the only unit in Surrey equipped to deal with male drug addicts, has been closed; and when he expects it to reopen.
§ Mr. EnnalsThe Unit has been temporarily closed owing to a shortage of nursing staff. Five of the patients are continuing their treatment as out-patients and the sixth has been transferred to another part of the hospital. I cannot say when the Unit will re-open.
