§ Mr. James Davidsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will direct planning authorities in Scotland to compile a list of public rights of way in their areas, in order that they may fulfil their functions under the Countryside (Scotland) Act, 1967 in regard to the protection of these rights of way.
§ Mr. RossNo. I consider that decisions about how they should carry out these duties are best left to the discretion of local planning authorities acting, as appropriate, in consultation with the Countryside Commission for Scotland.
